Privacy Policy — AiVery Reel
Effective date: August 8, 2026
AiVery Reel is a content-planning app for short-form video creators — a private backlog of ideas, content pillars, and post performance, with optional AI-generated ideas built on Aivery's memory engine. This policy explains what data the app uses, what stays on your device, and what's sent to a server and why.
Data stored on your device
Everything you capture in the app — idea titles, content pillars, hook and format tags, notes, status, and any performance numbers you log — is stored locally on your device using Apple's Core Data.
If you're signed in to iCloud, this same data syncs across your own devices through your personal iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit). That sync is between your devices only, governed by Apple's iCloud privacy practices — it does not pass through Aivery's servers.
Optional AiVery account features
Connecting an AiVery API key in Settings is optional — capturing, organizing, and tracking ideas works fully without one. Connecting a key turns on two AI-powered features, and only then does any data leave your device for Aivery's servers:
- "Next 5 Ideas" — sends your recent idea titles and content pillar names to Aivery's servers to generate new suggestions.
- Style, identity, and performance notes — any preference or identity facts you type in Settings, and the pattern-insight sentences the app writes after you log enough performance data, are saved to your Aivery account as memory so future idea generation stays relevant.
This data is used solely to power idea generation and the app's memory features. It is not sold, and it is not used for advertising.
Custom AI provider (optional)
If you configure a custom model provider (for example your own Ollama or OpenAI-compatible endpoint) in Settings, prompts for idea generation are sent to that provider instead, using the key you supply. That's governed by your chosen provider's own privacy practices, not this policy.
Sharing from other apps
The share extension (for example, sharing a TikTok link into AiVery Reel) saves the link and any note you add directly into your local idea backlog. This happens entirely on your device — nothing is sent anywhere as part of sharing itself.
CSV import and export
Exporting or importing your ideas and performance data as a CSV file is a local file operation. The file goes wherever you choose to save or share it — AiVery Reel doesn't upload it anywhere on its own.
What we do NOT do
- We do not include advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not access your location, contacts, photos, or health data — the app doesn't request any of those permissions.
- We do not send anything to Aivery's servers unless you've connected an API key.
Children
The app is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
Your choices
You can disconnect your AiVery account at any time from Settings — the app keeps working locally without it. You can delete any idea, pillar, or performance entry directly in the app at any time.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
